It took me two and a half years to upload this, because it is one of the most personal pieces I have ever done. Remus Lupin (left) and Sirius Black from Harry Potter have been a source of fascination for me for some time because of the relationship between the lines that isn't explicitly written on the page.
La Pared refers to the song of the same title by Shakira, the acoustic version of which is one of the most heart-wrenchingly beautiful love songs I've ever heard. "Después de ti, la pared," she sings: "After you, the wall." As in, after you, nothing else; life stops beyond this love. The title of the painting has a double meaning: the wall also refers to the invisible space between Remus and Sirius despite their closeness. No matter how much they love each other, there is a wall separating their two spheres that can never completely be breached.
When is enough enough... What difference does it make when popular artist vent vent vent and support a site that tolerates deviant behaviour. HA! no wonder its all in a name.
Your Darkest Dreams is a monthly feature devoted to sharing dark photography works from DeviantArt. Often misunderstood as "morbid" or "depressing", Your Darkest Dreams seeks to show this kind of photography in a new way: by showcasing art that is thought provoking, but at the same time unabashedly displays the beauty in darkness.
